A. Watson Armour III Central Endowment Fund
The A. Watson Armour III Scholarship Fund was established in 2011 through the estate of Mr. Armour and his wife, Sarah Wood Armour, to support students enrolled in Rush Medical College. Mr. Armour, a descendent of the Armour & Co. meat packing company, also founded Huck Manufacturing Co., a producer of metal fasteners for the aerospace, appliance and railroad industries.
Mr. and Mrs. Armour had a long history of service and philanthropy at Rush. Mr. Armour served on the Rush University Medical Center Board of Trustees from 1950 until his death in 1991. In 1996, Mrs. Armour made a transformational gift to name and renovate the Armour Academic Center on the Rush campus. Their legacy continues through this scholarship.
