Carylon Foundation Endowed Scholarship

Carylon Foundation Endowed Scholarship

The Carylon Foundation Endowed Scholarship was established in 2005 with a generous pledge from the Carylon Foundation. This scholarship supports students enrolled in Rush Medical College.

The Carylon Corporation, a leading environmental infrastructure company based in Chicago, was founded by the late Julius Hemmelstein, a longtime Rush donor. The company is now led by Mr. Hemmelstein’s daughter, Ms. Marcie Hemmelstein. Ms. Hemmelstein is a member of both the Rush Board of Trustees and Board of Governors. The Carylon Foundation has been a longtime donor to Rush, and most recently made a gift naming Cary’s Garden, a rooftop garden dedicated in memory of Julius Hemmelstein’s late wife and Marcie Hemmelstein?s late mother, Carylon (“Cary”) Hemmelstein.
