Daniel Welsh Endowed Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Daniel Welsh Memorial Scholarship was established after Dan’s untimely passing in 1992 through gifts in his memory from friends, family and classmates at Rush Medical College. Their continued giving in memory of Dan helped this scholarship become fully endowed in 1997, ensuring that Dan’s legacy will live on in perpetuity through this scholarship.

Prior to his passing, Dan was in his final year of medical school and in the process of applying to surgical residency programs. He is remembered as an exceptionally gifted student who was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society as a junior and on track to graduate at the top of his class. Beyond his scholarly accolades, Dan’s faculty mentors remember him as a “caring, considerate and impeccable human being.”

Impact
