Gail and Lois Warden Fellowship in Health Systems Management

The Gail and Lois Warden Fellowship was established in 2011 by Mr. and Mrs. Warden to support distinctive students in Rush University’s Health Systems Management program, where Mr. Warden was a faculty member. This endowed fellowship is also an act of giving back for Mrs. Warden, a 1962 graduate of the Presbyterian-St. Luke’s College of Nursing.

Mr. Warden is a longtime health care executive who is currently president emeritus of the Henry Ford Hospital System in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to his longtime stint as president and CEO of Henry Ford, Mr. Warden held numerous executive positions including his post as chief operating officer at Rush for many years. Mr. Warden is the founder of the National Center for Healthcare Leadership, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting excellence in health care leadership. Each year, the NCHL honors one American health care executive with the prestigious Gail L. Warden Leadership Excellence Award.

Mr. Warden and the late Mrs. Warden have been involved in numerous charitable causes, including Rush University for many years.
