Henry P. Russe, MD, Student Loan Fund

The Henry P. Russe, MD, Student Assistance Fund was established to honor the late Dr. Russe, dean of Rush Medical College from 1981 to 1991.

Colleagues, friends and family of Dr. Russe remember his legacy as a kind and compassionate leader who helped shape medical education at Rush and around the country. Dr. Russe served five terms as president of the Institute of Medicine of Chicago and was chairman of its board of governors from 1980 to 1986. He also was president of the Chicago Society of Internal Medicine and chairman of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.

In addition to this student assistance fund in his honor, the acting dean of Rush Medical College sits in The Henry P. Russe, MD, Endowed Chair.
